SASANIAN KINGS. Khosrau II, 591-628. Follis (Bronze, 29 mm, 10.29 g, 12 h), imitating a Class 2 Byzantine follis of Heraclius imitating an issue of Heraclius with Heraclius Constantine, struck during the Sasanian occupation of Syria, uncertain mint, 610-629. Two imperial figures standing facing, both draped, crowned and bearded, the figure on the right holding simple cross in his left hand; above, cross; around, blundered legend. Rev. Large M in center; below, A; around, blundered letters and numerals. H. Pottier: 7th Century 'barbarous' Folles, in: Coinage and History 4 (2015), pl. 2/3, no. 24-29. Very rare. Traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.
